Introduction to NCSIG:

Northern California Schools Insurance Group (NCSIG) is a Joint Powers Authority authorized under the laws of the State of California, originally formed in 1982 for the purpose of providing both liability and property insurance for public schools.  The JPA has been consistently “Accredited with Excellence” by the California Association of Joint Powers Authorities.

NCSIG has a membership in excess of 130 members including K-12 School Districts, County Offices of Education, Independent Charter Schools and Regional Occupational Programs, encompassing more than 500 sites in 11 northern counties.  The JPA and its members belong to the Northern California Regional Excess Liability Fund (NorCal ReLiEF) and the Schools Excess Liability Fund (SELF).

This website is dedicated to the founder of NCSIG, Jim Williams, who celebrated his 50th anniversary in the insurance business shortly before his untimely death in 2005.  Jim’s professionalism, personal integrity, humility and strength of character continues to motivate and inspire those who knew him.
